Some people really love the stag and hen parties, whilst others dread them, but why? Some suggest that’s because these people attending know that it will turn out to be a great evening of fun and are afraid to let go of their inhibitions. Others say that the fancy dress component is also a source of consternation as people tend to run out of ideas when it comes to getting a fancy dress costume for the event. This is really not necessary considering the wide range of costumes that have become available, especially online.

In addition to this, if you are planning a stag and/or hen party, there are some considerations that must be taken into account, so that the evening may be a success.

If you have been the honoured with organizing the event, you should make sure that certain conditions are considered when planning this evening or get together. This would include the venue, and the planned activities, one has to consider the locals in the area, especially when organizing the event out of town. And although you may not be familiar with the territory, perhaps a 'recon' trip will allow you to familiarize yourself with what one may consider as being offensive or inconsiderate of the local way of life.

You may well have decided upon a venue, as well as a theme but have you taken into account the possible weather implications. A beach or tropical theme, where people will be prancing around in swimwear and flimsy ensembles wouldn't be great in cold weather, now would it? This may seem to be a basic issue for consideration, but you'd be surprised as to how many people actually get this wrong, probably because they get caught up in the spirit of things!

There are a huge variety of possibilities that you may consider as a theme for a stag and hen party. Although the best ones are normally the ones that are centred around the more sexy or naughty approach when it comes to a fancy dress theme. People and characters such as Austin Powers and the variety characters within his range of antics are a great source of inspiration, after all Austin was certainly a man about town when it came to the ladies. Nuns, uniformed officers, gangsters, the sky is the limit or should I say people's imagination is the limit and any theme can be successfully implemented for a successful stag and hen party.

One of the best ways to ensure that the person who's party it actually is has a great time is to keep the entire affair a secret, this way when the event happens they will be shocked at the appearance and costumes of their mates. Perhaps you could even organize them a costume and have it at the venue so that they may enjoy the spirit and fun of the proceedings. Remember to take your camera along to capture those special moments, but nothing incriminating okay!
